Background

Elliot is a solicitor who joined Deighton Pierce Glynn in October 2019 and specialises in civil liberties and human rights.

He represents clients who have been harmed by the unlawful actions of the police and other state agencies, including the Ministry of Justice and Home Office.

Elliot is a member of StopWatch UK, Police Lawyers Action Group, Inquest Lawyers Steering Group and Young Legal Aid Lawyers.

Expertise

Many of Elliot’s cases concern complaints and civil actions against the police. These include seeking accountability for clients who have been:

Unlawfully arrested or otherwise detained,

Maliciously prosecuted,
Discriminated against e.g., on the grounds of race or disability,
The victims of serious sexual and violent crimes which are then inadequately investigated and/or prosecuted,
