About DPG

Deighton Pierce Glynn's work focuses on civil rights and judicial review. We represent clients across the UK and internationally, with a strong history dating back to 1987. Our experienced team has a proven track record of groundbreaking cases and a commitment to using the law to help clients drive social change.

We are known for the client-focus of our work and our close collaboration with campaigning groups, civil society, and NGOs in bringing strategic litigation.

Most of our work is for individuals seeking justice in difficult and often vulnerable situations. We regularly act in high-profile test cases—including in the Supreme Court and European Court of Human Rights.

Much of our work is funded by Legal Aid. We hold contracts in public law (judicial review) and civil claims against public authorities, including inquest-related work.

Our expertise spans a wide range of practice areas, all with a focus on protecting individual rights and holding public authorities to account: Actions Against the Police, Detention & Deprivation of Liberty, Failures to Protect, Migrant Rights, Inquests, Public Inquiries, Information and Privacy Rights, Judicial Review and Public Law, International Law, and Corporate Accountability.

DPG consistently focuses on the best interests of the client; they combine excellent technical legal skills with complete and unwavering commitment to often very vulnerable clients. Legal 500

Exceptional client care is at the heart of what we do. Our clients trust us with some of the most important legal challenges they face. We honour that trust by providing a personal, empathetic, and transparent service—we always listen, and we are always focused on what they want to achieve in a case. We take time to explain complex legal issues clearly and keep communication open at every stage.

Our strong reputation is reflected in excellent client feedback and regular referrals from former clients, NGOs, charities, and other lawyers.

We are top-ranked in The Times Best Law Firms 2025, Chambers & Partners, and The Legal 500. Our lawyers have received multiple awards, including from the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards, the Law Society, and organisations such as Liberty, JUSTICE, and Medical Justice.
